I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Thereapy. CBT is useful in working with issues of depression and anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders. 

Brief strategic family therapy training is useful in working with parents and teens on power struggles.

About Theresa

It is my goal to educate and empower my clients,  providing them with the tools necessary to work through their most difficult challenges with minimal effort. 

I aim to have satisfied consumers: those whose experience is positive enough that they would recommend my services to family and friends.

Counseling is my Passion.

I am a Micro Macro Licensed Masters Social Worker and a graduate of University of Michigan with 34 years experience in the field. 

 

Gottman level 3 trained to work with couples on relational issues, including, betrayals, conflict management and communication skill building.

Additional Gottman training includes but is not limited to Treatment of Trauma and Affairs , Couples and addictions and other relationship struggles. 

 

I thoroughly enjoy working with individuals who may be stuck in poor patterns of relational interactions as it relates to communication and conflict.

I also enjoy working with individuals on issues of depression and anxiety management skills.  I am trained in CBT and brief strategic counseling strategies.  

Getting Help

  • Verifying health insurance benefits/ making financial arrangements.

  • A completed psycho-social assessment on the first date of service and legal paperwork.

  • During the initial session, the therapist will gather information about you and your situation

  • Opportunity to explore expectations and goals for therapy.

  • Therapist expectations for treatment participation explained. 

  • Recommendations for reading and homework.

Costs

Know your financial obligations before beginning therapy.  

If using health insurance, we recommend you call them to enquire about your outpatient mental health benefit details.

  • Deductible amount and responsibility

  • Co-payment and/or co-insurance responsibilities

  • In many cases we can check this for you before scheduling.
